MMCMSA

The Medical Students’ Association of Mackay Medical College (MMCMSA) is an independent, active, and academic organization of students, representing MMC medical students in on-campus, cross-campus, and international students’ organizations. It aims to:

1. Promote exchanges among MMC medical students.
2. Promote exchanges between MMC medical students and non-MMC students.
3. Maintain and strive for the rights of MMC students.
4. Promote communication between MMC students and alumni.
5. Keep the MMC professors and students in touch and foster the relationships between students of different years in order to sharpen our knowledge and cultivate the spirit of mutual assistance and collaboration.
6. Promote academic development in MMC.

1. Executive Council: Composed by the Chairman, the Deputy Chairman, the Treasurer, the Secretary-General, and the Chief of Affairs, responsible for the submission of relevant motions and the hosting of relevant meetings.
2. Supervisory Council: Composed by student representatives of different years, responsible for the supervision and review of motions.
3. Central Commission
   • Public Relationship and Activities Section: It organizes cross-year entertainment activities, such as the Medical Week and X’mas event, and assists the organization of the Med Cup.
   • Executive Academic Section: It coordinates the administrative-delegate related activities, organizes medical humanities-related lectures, and National Examination briefings.
   • Information Publicity Section: It maintains the MMCMSA website and promotes the MMC medical students’ activities.
   • Students’ Rights Section: It channels and integrates the information of the department and deals with matters related to students’ rights and benefits.
   • National Examination Committee: It is responsible for the National Examination matters for fourth-year students.
   • Internship Committee: It is responsible for internship matters of senior students.
4. Federation of Medical Students Related Organizations
   • Sexual Health Promotion Section (Standing Committee on Reproductive Health including AIDS,SCORA): It focuses on issues of right to marriage equality, gender equality, prevention and control of sexually transmitted diseases, and organizes AIDS Week and gender-related lectures.
   • Medical Education Section (Standing Committee on Medical Education, SCOME): It focuses on medical education issues, provides career information, and surveys medical students' self-evaluation regularly.
   • Public Health Section (Standing Committee on Public Health, SCOPH): It focuses on public health issues, promotes health education, and organizes health education activities such as Black Bear Hospital.
   • Human Rights and Peace Section (Standing Committee on Human Rights and Peace, SCORP): It explores human rights issues and cares for the general public in the position of medical students.
   • Professional Exchange Section (Standing Committee on Professional Exchange, SCOPE): It deals with exchanges with different countries and maintains the exchange quality.
   • Research Exchange Section (Standing Committee on Research Exchange, SCORE): It deals with the research exchanges with different countries and enhances the research quality.
5. AMSA Taiwan: It deals with the cultural and academic exchanges between medical schools of different countries.

MMCMSA is committed to “change, see, identify, and inherit” and the manifestation of MacKay’s spirit of “rather burn out, than rust out”. The MMCMSA shall also "pass the torches without burning out."
