Welcome to Graduate Institute of Biomedical Science at MacKay Medical College.

To provide a snapshot of our institute, our program was formed in 2012, after the establishment of MacKay Medical College. There are currently 7 primary and four secondary faculty members. Faculty research interests include Infectious virus, Tropical Research, Virus infection, Cancer metastasis, cancer stem cells, Inducible pluripotent stem cells, Proteomics, Cell cycle research, diabetes and Autoimmune diseases, Oncolytic Adenovirus and combination gene therapy. Detailed faculty research interests can be found under faculty’s page.

The Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program at MacKay is established in 2012 and is a vibrant interdisciplinary graduate program committed to training graduate students in becoming a highly skilled scientist and/or an educator. We achieve this goal through an immersive curriculum designed to provide students with fundamental knowledge of biomedical science, scientific skills and research training. Currently, we are offering a master program and we expect to have a Ph.D. program in 2019.

The graduate school provides students with the flexibility to tailor an independent coursework toward their developing research interests. In parallel, we offer students a broad spectrum of research opportunities, provided in partnership with the medical research departments of MacKay Memorial Hospital, a famous Taiwan Christian research hospitals dedicated to the Taiwanese Society.

Through these opportunities, students have an opportunity to train under our full-time faculties who are committed not only to scientific discovery, but also to mentoring and teaching.

We expect the institute to have Ph.D students in 2019. Starting from 2017, we are accepting application from students with fluent Chinese language ability from countries such as mainland China, Hong-Kong, Macao, and Taiwanese-decedents from other countries.
